TASK

• Dental Assistants will be assigned to a primary duty station DENTAC/clinic, may be required to perform services at other DENTAC/clinics on the same post.
• The dental assistants shall perform the same duties as those required of any military or government civil service dental assistant of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.
• Clinic Services.The Dental Assistants shall provide professional dental services for. All appointed patients each day, Monday through Friday.  Routine clinic hours are as specified by the DENTAC where services are provided.
• Sick Call Services. Dental Assistants will assist DENTAC personnel in providing required dental care of all sick call patients who arrive at the dental clinic during the scheduled sick call hours.
• On Call Services. Dental Assistants shall provide on call services as scheduled by the DENTAC Commander where services are being provided.
• Clinical patient schedules are subject to change during the workday due to cancellations, clinic staff changes, emergencies, and other unexpected events.

• Be a Graduate, within the last three(3) years, from a formal dental assistant program, with a curriculum of a minimum of three(3) months in length.
• Or have one(1) year of clinical dental assisting experience, within the last three(3) years.
• Have and maintain current certification in CPR.
• Must have Radiology training course though the American Dental Association, the American Dental Assistant Assistant Association or other approved source.
• Be capable of performing the full range of dental assistant services commensurate with the dental assistant specialty.
