The duties for this Full-Time position include but are not limited to the following:
The quality of Urgent Care Center Physician service shall meet or exceed reasonable community standards of professional practice for the health care concerned as determined by the authority that governs military medical professionals in the same discipline.
The Urgent care Physician shall remain on-shift until the relief physician arrives. He/she shall ensure that continuity of care is provided to all patients.
The Physician will also be required to provide support to inpatients wards in emergent/urgent situations.
The Urgent Care Center physicians shall consult with other specialty practitioners for consultative opinions and continuation of care.
The Urgent care Center physicians shall practice within the guidelines set by the credentialing function of the MTF and the Chief of the Medical Staff.
An Emergency Medicine residency acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General and board eligible of board certified in emergency medicine or has minimum of 5 years full-time experience working in an emergency department and able to treat full age spectrum.
Emergency Medicine Residency-trained physicians: Board eligible or board certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM) is required.
Family Practice or Family Medicine Residency-trained physicians: Current board certification by the American Board of Family Practice (MD) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice (DO) is required.
Combines Pediatrics and Internal Medicine Residency-Trained Physicians: Board certification in this specialty is required.
The Physician must have three (3) years of post-training experience within the last for 4 years. Five (5) years of experience within the last (7) seven years desired.
Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Course (NRC) certifications are desired but not required.
